I have been taking a mini break for a week or so as on the 6th March it was my 21st birthday. I wanted to make it a special celebration so I decided to do some dramatic makeup, especially on the eye, to share with you all.

Here is the fun part of doing my makeup everyday. I love creating quite out their looks so I thought I’d go very out of my comfort zone for my 21st. I decided to use two very loved palettes that I have recently purchased. You will find them in my previous post if you click here.
The palettes are both from Makeup Revolution and they were the Re-loaded IconicVitality Palette and the Love Conquers All Palette.
I was wandering around Boots in London and a noticed that Benefit had this mini stall type thing with bowls full of products. They were mini versions of some of their products. The offer was that you could pick up 4 mini’s for £15. I was drawn to this because I hate paying so much money on make up that I will end up not liking so it was nice to pick a few high end things to test before committing the full price.
The first one that caught my eye was the Bad Gal Lash Mascara. I have to say it’s the mascara I have reached for the most since buying it. The mascara isn’t a thick consistency and doesn’t clump up your lashes one bit. It makes them look very natural. The only issue I have with it is, if you wear it all day long, the mascara may transfer a bit to your skin. It was only when I got home from work and looked in the mirror that I noticed it. All in all though, this mascara is my new holy grail and will definitely be picking up the full size.
The second product that caught my eye was the Rockateur Blush. I was surprised to see that it was more of a brown toned blush rather than pink toned. I was very skeptical when I first tried it on my cheeks. I was expecting it to show up brown like I had put contour on my cheeks. However it showed up quite subtly, with a slight hint of shimmer and actually looked very flattering. I will be picking up the full size but will be keeping this one for travelling, as I have a feeling I will be using this one a lot.
The third product was a primer. I am a massive fan of the Porefessional Primer, so I was excited to try the “That Gal” Brightening Face Primer. I used it three days in row, the first day was great. It sank in well to my skin and my makeup looked flawless all day. Although for me, products usually work amazingly the first time and then my skin decides whether it likes it or not. The second day my makeup looked amazing for half of the day and then the primer decided it didn’t want to work on my skin. So the third day, I knew what to expect. My makeup was patchy not long after application. I was so gutted because I adore Benefit products, but this one wasn’t for me.
The final product I purchased was the Triple Performing Facial Emulsion Moisturizer. I had no idea Benefit even did any kind of skin care. I must have been living under a rock the whole time. I was so excited to try this out and again I tested it over three days. Each day my skin felt so soft. The product is so lightweight and doesn’t make your skin feel greasy. It sinks in so quickly. The only thing that I do not like about this product is the bottle the product comes in. It is literally just a hole in the top that you kind of have to tap on your hand to get the product out, kind of like the glass bottles of sauce at Nando’s. 9 times out of 10 you end up with nothing or too much. I will look past it though because the product is amazing.
