I went to Brighton beach with my family last weekend. My sister and I were putting on our make up in the morning and I realised just how different our beach looks are, so I thought it would be good to show you what products we used to give you two options. My sister went for the no make up, make up look and I went for more a bronzed, sun kissed look.

I was wandering around Boots in London and a noticed that Benefit had this mini stall type thing with bowls full of products. They were mini versions of some of their products. The offer was that you could pick up 4 mini’s for £15. I was drawn to this because I hate paying so much money on make up that I will end up not liking so it was nice to pick a few high end things to test before committing the full price.
The first one that caught my eye was the Bad Gal Lash Mascara. I have to say it’s the mascara I have reached for the most since buying it. The mascara isn’t a thick consistency and doesn’t clump up your lashes one bit. It makes them look very natural. The only issue I have with it is, if you wear it all day long, the mascara may transfer a bit to your skin. It was only when I got home from work and looked in the mirror that I noticed it. All in all though, this mascara is my new holy grail and will definitely be picking up the full size.
The second product that caught my eye was the Rockateur Blush. I was surprised to see that it was more of a brown toned blush rather than pink toned. I was very skeptical when I first tried it on my cheeks. I was expecting it to show up brown like I had put contour on my cheeks. However it showed up quite subtly, with a slight hint of shimmer and actually looked very flattering. I will be picking up the full size but will be keeping this one for travelling, as I have a feeling I will be using this one a lot.
The third product was a primer. I am a massive fan of the Porefessional Primer, so I was excited to try the “That Gal” Brightening Face Primer. I used it three days in row, the first day was great. It sank in well to my skin and my makeup looked flawless all day. Although for me, products usually work amazingly the first time and then my skin decides whether it likes it or not. The second day my makeup looked amazing for half of the day and then the primer decided it didn’t want to work on my skin. So the third day, I knew what to expect. My makeup was patchy not long after application. I was so gutted because I adore Benefit products, but this one wasn’t for me.
The final product I purchased was the Triple Performing Facial Emulsion Moisturizer. I had no idea Benefit even did any kind of skin care. I must have been living under a rock the whole time. I was so excited to try this out and again I tested it over three days. Each day my skin felt so soft. The product is so lightweight and doesn’t make your skin feel greasy. It sinks in so quickly. The only thing that I do not like about this product is the bottle the product comes in. It is literally just a hole in the top that you kind of have to tap on your hand to get the product out, kind of like the glass bottles of sauce at Nando’s. 9 times out of 10 you end up with nothing or too much. I will look past it though because the product is amazing.
Firstly I’d like to say a massive thank you for almost 200 followers. It really means so much, the support that I get from you all.
Today I felt like giving my look a theme and I based it on a gorgeous picture I took of a sunset and I thought I’d give you an insight into the products I used.
I used two eye shadow palettes for this look. They are The Balm Nude Dude and NYX Lid Lingerie.
The first thing I did was take a flat brush by Lottie London and I used the nude shade from the top right of the NYX palette. I packed this onto my lids to give them an even surface to apply more. This is a great thing to do if you have discolouration on your lid or your veins are more prominent their.
The next thing I did was take a fluffy blending brush by NYX. I used the top right shadow in the NYX palette, which is like a browny-pink shade and I buffed this into the outer section of my crease.
Thirdly I took that same flat brush from before and I went onto The Balm palette. I used the shade “Fit” which is a gorgeous copper-gold shimmer shade. These shades have the most insane pigment. I packed this onto the lid to create a beautiful sunset/beach vibe. It looks so bright and shimmery on the lid, I was shook.
The last thing I did to tie this eye shadow look together was I used that a blending brush by Real Techniques to blend the lid and the crease together to get that transition – much like a sunset.
If you are interested in the other products I used on my skin then please don’t hesitate to ask, or you can check out previous posts such as my Daily Make up Look and the Make up Look Inspired by Leighton Meister. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. See you soon with another post.
The first product I purchased, was the new Sleek Highlight Palette (Diamond Dreams). I wanted to purchase this after seeing a post by another fellow blogger *The Clueless Beauty Junkie* – do check out her blog. This palette has five shades. 3 of them are creamy highlights and 2 of them are powder highlights. When I first saw this palette it looked like it should be a colour correcting concealer palette as it has the greens, pinks and purple shades. I have to say the shades apply better to the skin if you use your finger and then blend with a brush. I do prefer the creamier shades as they blend a bit easier and it doesn’t look like you have a visible line of highlight.
Anodize (creamy), Beam (powder), Sweet Delusion (creamy), Refracted (powder), Blurred Lights (creamy)

The second product I purchased, was the NYX Lid Lingerie Eye Shadow Palette. I am a massive fan of the lip lingerie liquid lipsticks so as soon as I saw this palette I had to make purchase it. This palette has six reasonably sized shades so you will get a tone of use out of them. They apply so easily to the skin with a brush and using your finger. They are so pigmented so a little does go a long way. In my opinion, some of these shades would still be great for summer e.g. the bottom middle shade and the top right shade. This palette actually has good shades to use throughout the year. In the picture you may not be able to see the top right shade, this is because it is a perfect match to my skin, great as a base shade to even out the colour of the lid. I am excited to use this in some up coming make up looks!
